Field Operations
A simple field-to-office workflow that turns completed work into reviewable evidence and work ready to bill.
My roleProduct design, operational data flow and QA strategy.
The problem
Evidence, review and billing readiness are often split across calls, chats and spreadsheets after field work is complete.
Constraints
- Technician flow must stay simple
- Review ownership must be clear
- No private property or worker data
Business result
A completed visit moves through one clear path: field submission, review, then work ready to bill. That makes the evidence and commercial handoff easier to follow.
How it works
A technician submits the work once. A manager reviews the proof and approval advances the item to a distinct ready-to-bill state.
Designed for the field
The field screen stays focused on the task at hand. Complexity belongs in the accountable review step, not in a technician’s workflow.

Conceptual workflow
Architecture
- Field submission
- Manager review
- Approval
- Ready to bill
Decisions
- Make submission the single handoff
- Separate evidence from billing readiness
- Use explicit review states
Evidence
- The operating path is field submission to review to ready to bill
- The case presents workflow behavior without unapproved metrics
Safety boundary
- No payroll, personal or property data is shown
- No AI makes technician-facing decisions
- Approval remains accountable
