Chevrolet Volt Diagnostics Toolkit
Research and development for passive vehicle diagnostics, focused on understanding signals without active vehicle control.
My roleDiagnostics workflow, signal research and safety boundary design.
The problem
Vehicle signals can aid diagnosis, but research tooling requires a clear boundary before it is used around a live vehicle bus.
Constraints
- Passive diagnostics only
- No active control claim
- No vehicle identifiers published
Research outcome
This work establishes a passive diagnostic path for understanding vehicle signals without presenting active vehicle control as a finished product.
Safety boundary
The toolkit observes and interprets signals only. Actuation, injection and consumer-control claims are outside this research scope.

Architecture
- Passive capture
- Signal review
- DBC research
- Diagnostic interpretation
Safety boundary
- Listen-only operation
- No active CAN commands
- No vehicle identifiers or connection details
